Russian Television, in many many cases, is a carbon copy of American television. I call this... BIZARRO WORLD

I've seen Russian versions of a couple different sitcoms now. I wouldn't mind knowing just how far they think they can push this. Do they even write their own scripts, or just translate and culturize the foreign ones? I've seen Russian "The Nanny" and Russian "Saving Grace" and Russian "Home Improvement." Are the other Russian sitcoms copies of Mexican or Brazilian sitcoms?
And have you noticed that the Russian copies of American sitcoms actually have the highest budgets and best look to them of all the crap on TV here? Isn't that just sad?
russian "The Nanny" is totally bizarro world. i think there's also a "married with children".
